Telit UC864 UMTS / HSDPA data module for M2M applications
The compact UC864 UMTS / HSDPA module is ideally suited for industrial data transmission applications where high data rates are necessary.
The UC864 is a UMTS / HSDPA module offering among others an
integrated TCP/IP and UDP stack and a three channel ADC providing extended functionality, adding value to the end application without adding cost. The UC864-E is fully backword compatible to existing EDGE and GSM/GPRS networks through accomplished quad-band radios. The extensive interface set, which includes IIC and user definable GPIOs, provides ease of integration of peripherals.
All Telit modules support the Over-the-Air firmware update via GPRS. Especially for applications which are installed around the world this is a very big advantage as in case of a necessary firmware update it is not necessary to collect the devices first or to do the update on-site. Telit is using a technology for the update which has been proven in the mobile handset market for millions of cellular telephones. During the update only a delta file, representing the difference between the old and the new firmware version, will be transmitted.
UC864-G (Tri-Band UMTS / HSDPA - Quad-Band EDGE / GPRS)
Apart from being a Tri-Band UMTS/HSDPA module the UC864-G also differs from the European version UC864-E by offering an integrated 12chanal high sensitivity GPS receiver with GPS functionality for indoor fixes and simultaneous GPS with voice & data.
