The compact Quad Band Telit GE863 GSM/GPRS module is ideally suited for industrial data transmission. In the same form factor a GPS version and a variant with separate ARM9™ processor are available (see below).

Due to the compact size and the extended operating temperature range the GE863 is the perfect solution for M2M applications and mobile data terminals with medium to high volumes with special requirements regarding size and height. Thanks to the BGA technology connectors are eliminated and solution cost is significantly reduced compared to conventional mounting. The GE863-QUAD is now offering Quad Band functionality and is RoHS compliant; additionally it is now offering new product features. System integrators who are already using the GM863 for many years can stick with their layout while taking at the same time advantage of the latest technology. Additionally there are no costs for new approvals which would have been necessary with a redesign.

The GE863-PY is offering the possibility to host customer application scripts and making the device thus one of the smallest and compact platforms for M2M solutions. In many cases an external controller can be saved. State-of-the-art IIC interfaces provide connectivity to external peripherals such as sensors and displays.

The new GE863-GPS combines the superior performance of the Quad Band GSM/GPRS modem with that of the latest 20-channel high sensitivity SiRFstarIII™ single-chip GPS receiver and is thus the smallest GSM/GPRS/GPS module on the market offering this functionality.

The Telit GE863-GPS is the ideal platform for mobile applications in areas such as telematics, fleet management, tracking, security, and vehicle navigation. Due to the small height it is perfectly suited for applications where every millimeter counts.

With the GE863-PRO³ another member of the GE863 product family is available presenting a true innovation. Apart from the known product features it is offering an additional and powerful ARM9™ processor exclusively dedicated to customer applications. There is no need for an additional controller in the solution making logistics easier and the bill of material shorter and cheaper. The GE863-PRO³ is available in different versions with different memory and with or without Linux operating system.
